Forklift
Last updated: June 12, 2025
Conduit's Forklift module is built to streamline communications between the office and dock team. When the office team checks in an appointment, Forklift Operators on the dock will see the new work assignment appear on tablets or phones mounted in their forklifts.
This view is optimized to only show trailers that are on site and ready to be worked, meaning that your forklift operators do not get bogged down with information about trailers that aren't ready to be worked.
There are 2 ways to use forklift mode:
the office team can assign forklift operators to appointments
forklift operators can self-select which appointments to work
These two approaches can be used interchangeably or you can pick one for your facility. Both are covered in the instructions below.
Instructions
Forklift View
Click on the forklift icon to open Conduit's Forklift page.

Select your name from the list of users to see appointments assigned to you and to begin claiming appointments.

Assigning a Forklift Operator
To assign a forklift operator from the office, go to your schedule and click into an appointment.

Click on the forklift field to see a dropdown list of your forklift operators or to add a new operator.

Click "Save & Exit" to save the change.

On the Forklift page, operator "Claire" can now see that this appointment is assigned to her. Other forklift operators will not see this appointment.

In order for a Forklift Operator to see an appointment, the appointment must be Checked In.
Claiming an Appointment as a Forklift Operator
For unassigned appointments, all forklift operators will see these in a list of "Claimable Tasks". Any forklift operator can choose to claim this appointment.

When a forklift operator clicks "Claim", they will be assigned as the forklift operator for the appointment. This will show up in the Schedule page as well.

Unloading a Trailer
To begin loading or unloading a trailer, click "Start Unloading".

This will open the unload workflow. This page can be configured to request things like Seal Number, Trailer Number, or other information about the trailer. To learn more about configurations, see the FAQ below.
Product Photos can be uploaded here. We recommend taking pictures of the seal before it is broken, and of the contents of the trailer if anything has toppled. All photos uploaded here will automatically be added to the "Attachments" page in the appointment.
When the operator has opened the trailer and captured any required information, click "Finish" to begin unloading.

While they work on unloading the trailer, the forklift operator can add additional photos if they find damage or other issues in the contents of the trailer.

When they are finished unloading the trailer, click "Finish Unloading".

On the Schedule page, the appointment will now show as "Unloaded" in light blue. The office team can now prep paperwork for the driver, and check the driver out of the facility.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I manage a list of forklift users? I don't see them in the user settings?
Forklift operators are distinct from users. Forklift Operators are added in the workflow (from the schedule page or the forklift page), and will remain available as long as an appointment within 30 days (past or future) has the name associated with it.
In the future, we plan to add a Forklift User type that allows for stricter management of forklift operators. If this is important to you, please email us at support@getconduit.ai to be notified when that is released.
Can I delete a forklift operator?
No. Forklift operators are associated with appointments. Names will disappear off the list if they are assigned to no appointments within 30 days (past or future).
Can I assign multiple forklift operators to a single appointment?
No. Only one forklift operator can be assigned to an appointment. This is for traceability purposes - it allows you to know exactly who submitted images and other information related to the appointment.
